CUSS in the Caribbean
The latest reports from Oranjested, in Aruba, suggest that Aruba has become the first Caribbean airport to implement a self-service check-in facility.

Following IATA’s guidelines, the airport authority said that it was delighted to announce that both KLM and Martinair passengers could henceforth use the Common Use Self Service check-in kiosks for checking in and the printing of boarding passes.

AAA’s CUSS programme is open to all airlines whose check-in software is compatible with AAA’s CUSS kiosks. KLM and Martinair represent the first carriers to have signed up and AAA has placed four CUSS check-in kiosks in the non-US check-in area.

The Aruban airport authority added that it hopes to install similar kiosks in the US check-in area as well. Several major US airlines have already expressed an interest in the facility.
