Elephant hunted in Denmark
A new Vestergaard aircraft de-icer has gone to Greenland Contractors.

The company is the base maintenance contractor at Thule Air Base, and it recently decided to acquire a brand new Elephant Sigma aircraft de-icer. This unit, manufactured by Vestergaard, is a newly-designed, compact unit which with good terrain-going capability and which features a Forced Air system for swift removal of snow, and which has been found to be a sound choice for rough arctic conditions. The Elephant Sigma de-icer was introduced in 2009 for airport operations in Estonia and Norway and from 2010 also in Japan and in Greenland, as part of GC's GSE fleet in Thule.
