Insight to business model
Late last year Maximus Air Cargo’s President and CEO Fathi Hilal Buhazza delivered a presentation at the World Freighters’ Conference in Barcelona, Spain.
The ninth Freighters’ World Conference is a busy forum for members of the international freight community. Buhazza’s presentation “Start-up and Survival” was a high profile contribution to the event and offered an insight into the successful Maximus business model.
Maximus Air Cargo is the Middle East region’s largest all-freight operator and Buhazza’s presentation followed the Maximus journey from inception through to future plans. Commenting on Maximus’s achievements, Fathi Buhazza said: “In just four years we have achieved so much, and despite the global downturn, the future looks bright. The Middle East has clear advantages over other regions to reach European, Asian and African markets. Added to this, we also expect freight traffic to triple over the next 20 years. All these advantages combined with a sound business model mean that Maximus Air Cargo is confident and optimistic.”
The airline, a part of Abu Dhabi Aviation Group, was established in 2005 and has rapidly grown to be a key player providing end to solutions for a multitude of sectors. Specialising in outsized cargo and wet leasing aircraft, its expertise is diverse, ranging from scheduled, charter, and governmental to military, airline and humanitarian sectors. With a varied fleet of eight aircraft, impeccable safety and security standards and an expert team, Maximus has in a short time established itself as an air cargo freighter of some renown.
